MISSION
To rekindle in women who've "kissed 27 goodbye" a renewed sense of possibility and adventure. To reconnect with our inner adventure diva and reclaim lost dreams. To connect in meaningful and action-oriented ways with role models and mentors. To inspire our daughters to embrace a healthy and balanced sense of personal adventure and self. To learn how to tell our own stories as a means of finding our way, and recognizing our place within our communities. To discover, celebrate and reward breakthrough innovation. To cultivate personal and community resilience.
GOALS
General Program Goals
- to create a balanced mix of well-known role models and "regular" women who are "up-and-coming";
- to create opportunities for more and more women to use this as a launchpad for their own adventures;
- to cultivate a business that is both fiscally responsible (to it's members), and socially responsible (microfinance being the primary vehicle for the latter);
- to nurture a sense of ownership amongst members and reward breakthrough innovation;
- to combine a sense of personal adventure with community engagement by creating learning opportunities around global issues;
- to cultivate a program that encourages participation and focuses on connecting needs and resources;
- to identify existing microfinance programs that empower women and find ways of supporting them;
Outfitting for the Adventure
Main Goal: (week of 6/27/05):
Update the http://www.estrogenarmy.com web site.
Launch Tasks:
- clearly define target audience
- articulate vision, goals, products and services
- map out launch strategies and timeline for first 3 months
Stretch Objectives:
- draft interview to cultivate featured women articles
- populate test audio broadcast for "Adventure Radio"
- invite input on existing women's empowerment and microfinance initiatives
